A/N: WARNING: If you have a queasy stomach, this might not be the best of ideas.  If you can withstand SAW or something like that, you should be okay. Let's just say…Hannibal Lector would approve of the menu. Based on H. R. Howland's 'Epicure.'
*****************************************************
According to Webster's Dictionary, the word 'epicure' is defined as 'one with sensitive and discriminating tastes especially in food or wine.'  They ain't talking about wine.
*****************************************************
L was not one who got queasy.  He could eat mountains of sweets without hesitation.  He could examine the most gruesome crime scenes via computer without a flinch.  Grisly evidence had been passed to him that would have made most people vomit.  L thought he could withstand anything.
Until the case of Kasidy Rhodes.
L was not one to explore the files of other letters.  This case, investigated by T however had seemed interesting and he did not have a case to solve for the moment.  It was a murder of the grossest kind…and it royally disturbed L.
The first section described the background of the woman.  A divorced mother of two, Kasidy had seemed to be quite normal.  She had been a member of a chat room for divorcees and had frequently chatted with a man whose alias was Dr. B.  The emails had been tracked to a man named Dr. Bennett Sykes, also deceased.
He was also a member of the Epicurean Society.
The next section was entitled as such.
Started in the 1840s, this unknown Philadelphian society met annually for a banquet of sorts.  One member would host said dinner, dealing with everything from preparation to creating the main course and complimenting sides.  There was only one rule when it came to the main dish.
The meat…was the flesh of a woman.
The half-eaten remains of Kasidy had been found in a dumpster near an old restaurant.  The attendees had long since disbursed and had never been identified.  Their host had been found in a tanning bed turned oven in his basement, more than likely the means that Kasidy was…prepared.  He was nothing but charred remains.
L promptly closed the file.
He only consumed beverages for the next two days.
Warning: This is my first story containing grisly subject matter.
You have been forewarned.
Yes this is a crossover.

This is very good. I've been waiting for a more adult fanfiction concerning Death Note for ages. Eventhough I would prefer a more long and detailed story instead of a one shot, this is still good to see.

Knowing L is the greatest detective in the world, realisticly he would be dealing with the most terrible crimes in the world, ones that possibly involve the most gruesome subjects such as cannibalism, inbreeding and other such terrible things that the world frowns upon.

No wonder why L doesn't sleep.

Nice one shot!
